Classical: Next

We are thrilled to have been selected to appear in the Classical:Next Showcase Festival in Rotterdam in May. This is a rare opportunity to share our music with people from all around the world. Across different formats including showcases, conference panels and pitches, Classical:NEXT presents artists and ensembles from every part of our globe that push the boundaries and extend the horizons of art music. The Showcase Festival shows artists and productions in a series of short, live concerts designed to put on display the most extraordinary talents available in contemporary music.

Andrea Keller’s Love in Solitude and Kate Moore’s Fern, both works written specifically for Ensemble Offspring, will form a beautifully contemplative program. For the first time, these live performance will be synchronised with a screening of the specially commissioned accompanying video pieces created by Peter Humble and Lilian Brown, reflective of both the music and the Australian landscape that engendered it.

See all ten showcase artists HERE including two local colleagues and regular collaborators, Sonya Lifschitz and Zephyr Quartet. Read more about Classical: Next’s plan to celebrate women in music HERE, and check out the panels Claire will be participating in HERE, including as Chair of the panel on Composer Gender Equality. In addition, Claire has been included on the Long List for the Classical:NEXT Innovation Award – more on that HERE.
