Natural disasters, climate change and pandemics through music

Another Future

June 5, 2022 @ 3:00 pm 5:00 pm

Natural disasters, climate change and pandemics provide rich fuel for artistic expression and musical interaction. Found sounds donated from recent bushfires curated as art, music and film. Imagining a time in the perhaps not-too-distant future where there are no gardens, and hence, none of the wondrous sound-making beings that inhabit it. And tactility explores post-COVID social distancing with hands as identifiers and connectors – physical awareness renewed through living new music. Another Future features two Noisy Women commissions and a new work by Dutch/American composer Vanessa Lann with two afternoon performances at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.

Note: all patrons above the age of 16 must present their COVID-19 vaccination certificate upon entry. Patrons aged 12 and above must wear face masks inside the venue.
