Avant Gardens 1 presents chamber music in its most relaxed and real setting. Soprano Jane Sheldon, percussionist Claire Edwardes and flautist Lamorna Nightingale perform a unique mash-up of sound worlds. International giants Takemitsu, Crumb, Druckman and Furrer meet new music by locals Brenda Gifford and Courtney Cousins. Coming to you from a stunning Alexandria home, this is chamber music that’s part of the real world and so close that you can touch it.
Experience Ensemble Offspring’s unique brand of living new music up-close. In 2023, our Avant Gardens series offers two distinctive programs presented in the homes and backyards of our trusty supporters. Hear every breath and feel every beat in this intimate musical exchange.
