Inspired by Australian bush classics such as The Magic Pudding, Blinky Bill and The Muddleheaded Wombat, Ensemble Offspring, Sydney’s favourite musical mavericks, take toddlers and their families on a journey to experience the wonderment of chamber music for the first time. Featuring old-fashioned colonial folk tunes, sounds of the Australian bush, instrumental demonstrations, hands on percussion fun and music by much loved Australian composers.

“It was with great delight our young audiences at The Joan received Bilby’s Bluegum Melodies, Ensemble Offspring’s new show, earlier this month.
The Ensemble Offspring trio gently guided the youngsters through a magical world of the Australian bush with tales of our own bush creatures brought to life through the music of contemporary Australian composers using many fascinating instruments many of the audience members both young and old, would have never experienced before.
Clearly Claire, Roland and Jason revelled in their story telling roles and their talents were beautifully showcased with each tale told. The comments from the audiences were positive and the engagement shown with each performance was encouraging to say the least.
The future of Australian classical music is in very good hands with this exceptional ensemble.” – Cath Dadd, EP Penrith Regional Gallery
