Hume Chamber Music Festival
Blue Silence
September 16 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Ensemble Offspring’s very own musical mavericks Claire Edwardes (5 octave marimba) and Jason Noble (bass clarinet) join forces with acclaimed American harpist Emily Granger to unearth masterpieces from the depths of living musical imagination for their three monolithic instruments. Originally premiered in their live-streamed concert series Offspring For All (now free to view online), Blue Silence hits the live stage in 2022 to share this unique combination of unusual instruments and healing music from around the globe.
Granger’s harp features in a stunning solo penned by her partner and local legend Tristan Coelho, complemented by rousing chamber works from Nathan Daughtrey (USA), Caleb Burhans (USA) and Gunnar Andreas Kristinsson (Iceland). A timely trio arrangement of the reflective Blue Silence by Australian treasure Elena Kats-Chernin is complemented by Gerard Brophy’s new work Just outside Van… for bass clarinet and marimba – come on a journey to Turkey’s ancient east coast in this virtuosic duo.
Don’t miss this intimate musical experience with three of Australia’s most versatile and captivating chamber musicians.
Ensemble Offspring is committed to ensuring our events are accessible to everyone. Please email admin@ensembleoffspring.com at the time of booking to inform us of any special access needs.
