Echoes and Orbits
May 10 @ 8:00pm – May 13 @ 3:00pm
Echoes and Orbits is an intimate and playful program featuring upbeat and eclectic works for percussion and cello. Mainly spanning the latest decade of American and Australian music – a period where pop culture and classical music have converged more than ever before – the pieces reflect the energetic and vital time in which we live, but also gives us space to breathe and be still.
Experience fresh new works which abandon convention, pushing the classical cello out of its comfort zone and into the worlds of jazz, funk and pop, with a little bit of folk thrown in. With its percussive beats and grooves, Echoes and Orbits takes listeners into a new stratosphere of sounds – a place of wonder, joy and discovery.
