After a long hiatus, in 2023 Ensemble Offspring returns to Europe taking our unique brand of Aussie art music international. We’re presenting the first ever northern hemisphere performances of our bespoke Songbirds program, works from the internationally acclaimed Ngarra-Burria: First Peoples Composers program (Classical:NEXT Innovation Award recipient 2022) and the world premiere of a new version of Nardi Simpson’s -barra for ensemble and choir.
We’re also connecting Australia to the world through new musical collaborations. With experimental art music as our common language we team up with Korvat auki (‘Ears Open’) in Helsinki with extensive local composer workshops, and in Berlin we join Marc Sinan’s Pantopia Festival at Spreehalle for their festival of trans cultural music joining other guest ensembles from Argentina, Turkey, Mexico and Peru. Together, our global network of art music fiends will create unique musical experiences informed by our varied cultural heritage.
