To conclude a wonderful year of unforgettable performances as part of the 2013 Contemporary Music Program, Campbelltown Arts Centre presents FINЀ – a double bill of fresh new music from around the globe featuring percussion soloist Claire Edwardes in Numero Uno and Ensemble Offspring direct from Europe in Roar.
Numero Uno sees renowned Australian percussionist Claire Edwardes returning to CAC in a very special one off solo performance presenting works chosen by her after receiving over 70 submissions from a worldwide call out to composers. She showcases original new works for vibraphone and tape, glockenspiel, bowed cymbal, toy piano, hi hat, tam tam, woodblocks and other intriguing sounding percussive objects.
Ensemble Offspring Roar at the lucky citizens of Campbelltown, presenting Australian gems and modern classics alongside a barrage of works written especially for them by ex pat composers Kate Moore Matthew Shlomowitz and Jane Stanley, Matthew Hindson, Elena Kats-Chernin and Erik Griswold in a program that demands to be heard.
Refreshments and supper are available for purchase from 5pm at the Centre Cafe, with dinner available during the interval at 7pm prior to the 8pm concert. So make a night of it with dinner and an outstanding double bill!
