Mondays @ The Church 3: Faraway Galaxies

July 24 @ 6:30pm

Our third Mondays @ The Church event presents a world premiere by noise and improvisation artist Erkki Veltheim. Inspired by astronomy, the new work is placed alongside excerpts from modernist master Karlheinz Stockhausen’s serial work Tierkreis (Zodiac). The panel will discuss differences and resonances between Indigenous and Western approaches to astronomy, and even touch on the world of astrology.

Ensemble Offspring’s free concert series Mondays @ The Church is a unique opportunity for our community of passionate listeners to socialise and connect over brand new music. Each event pairs 30 minutes of live music with a lively chat on the arts and its role in the world today. You’re welcome to keep on talking as we kick on at the Lord Raglan Hotel, just around the corner.
