Step outside for a pop-up musical and performative walking tour of Erskineville featuring diverse duo combinations from a range of cultural backgrounds, now firmly rooted here in Australia. In parks, courtyards and unexpected pockets of green, Ensemble Offspring’s acclaimed instrumentalists pair up with special guests for 6 unique duets – sharing universal stories told from the heart. On one corner experience spoken word poetry from Somalia, on another a guzheng superstar from China. Hear music by a railway line, traditional dreaming stories, local indie legends and more. Join the musicians of one of Australia’s most imaginative and innovative ensembles for musical microparks as they transform inner-city urban landscapes into one-off sonic wonderlands.
4 stars ★★★★ “All in all, the uniqueness and sincerity of the event as a whole is its greatest strength. Giving voice to real stories and moving ideas through collaborations, Musical Microparks is a truly unique and innovative event from Ensemble Offspring…the result of all of the effort that has visibly gone into the production is beautiful, honest, and truly moving.” – Michael Kaufmann, Limelight

Tickets
New collaborative 20-minute works by each duo
Upon purchasing your ticket, you will be assigned to a group and issued with a meeting point for the first performance. For your safety and enjoyment, we ask that you stay with your assigned group so that numbers can be controlled at each location. There will be six sets during the performance and you will witness four of these. Each performance will last 20 minutes and you will have 10 minutes to make your way to the next location with your group. On average each ‘park’ is an easy walk of under 5 minutes so there will be ample time between each set. Please note that attendance at the Musical Microparks event does not guarantee that you will see specific sets as this is dependent on the group and route to which you are assigned.
