Ensemble Offspring

Silva

October 23, 2012 | 8:00pm

Humans have always looked in awe and wonder at the natural world and tried to reflect that order and beauty in music. Lose yourself in a poetic representation of the Mediterranean shrubland Garrigue in the work of spectralist Tristan Murail or the organic branch-like melodic patterns of Xenakis’ Plekto Commissioned to celebrate Mary Finsterer’s 50th year and featuring world-renowned percussionist and Ensemble Offspring Co-artistic Director Claire Edwardes, the stunning new work Silva reflects and echoes the beauty of the natural forest and ecology.
