To celebrate the release of our recent ABC Classic release, Songbirds, Ensemble Offspring return to the Old 505 with a program of favourites from the twittersphere, alongside pied butcher bird melodies and chirpy hymns.
With a little help from six revered local and international composers plus special guest pianist Sonya Lifschitz – Claire Edwardes (percussion), Jason Noble (clarinet/bass clarinet) and Lamorna Nightingale (flutes) present a program of works as breathtaking as a lyrebird’s tail.
Join our instrumentalists for their triumphant homecoming and be immersed in live sounds once more!
ACCLAIM FOR SONGBIRDS AT OLD 505
“What a delight to see you all last night and massive thanks for such an enjoyable concert!! Your performances of all the pieces were sublime and your rendition of my ditty was fantastic; exuberant and exciting when it should have been and likewise delightfully sensitive and heartfelt in the right spots. I am deeply appreciative and in fact humbled by all the time, energy and love that you have poured into it.”
Gerard Brophy, composer of Beautiful Birds (2019)
