This week Limelight published a glowing five-star review of our 2020 digital project Lone Hemispheres: The Solo Sessions – read it here!
We’ve been absolutely thrilled with the positive reception to Lone Hemispheres since the project’s launch, and want to once again extend our thanks to our dear collaborators: director/designer Michelle St Anne; videographer Matt McGuigan (Hospital Hill); and of course the living composers whose works feature in the project: Christopher Fox, Andrew Ford, Tristan Murail, Liza Lim, Kate Neal, Kaija Saariaho, Christopher Tonkin, Kate Moore, Alex Pozniak and Cathy Milliken.
Lone Hemispheres is Ensemble Offspring’s solo series, highlighting modern masterpieces alongside new Australian solo works. For our 2020 solo sessions, creative designer Michelle St Anne was asked to direct the 12 videos. She writes “My theme was ‘all dressed up with no place to go’, hence the socks and bare feet combined with high fashion. The videos are in black and white and a still life is featured on the left of the performer for each work, highlighting how the mundane of everyday life can become poetic over time.”
