Vision

Ensemble Offspring are Sydney’s musical mavericks, uniting innovative Australian instrumentalists with a broad collective of collaborators to champion the music of tomorrow. Together we explore new ideas through living music that leaps across art form. Driven by discovery, Ensemble Offspring presents intricately crafted experiential performances that transcend genre and place, tapping into the innate curiosity and adventurous spirit of our audiences. Featuring a core line up of world class musicians (on violin, cello, flute, clarinet, piano and percussion), Ensemble Offspring also provides opportunities to a broad range of Australian artists and creators, nurturing emerging and traditionally under-represented musicians (including female identifying and First Nations artists) to build a thriving culture for the 21st century. Artistic Director – Claire Edwardes

Ensemble Offspring prides itself on creating and performing music that excites and inspires, arouses and provokes. Commissioning, workshopping and premiering new musical works is at the heart of what we do, forging original pathways towards a thriving Australian musical culture for future generations. Over 25 years we have commissioned hundreds of new works resulting in over 300 world premieres. But we can’t do this alone. We rely on our wonderful supporters and patrons, those passionate individuals who love what we do and can chip in to help us keep doing it. In particular, donations  to our Noisy Egg Creation Fund have helped us cultivate today’s emerging talent, in the creation of the music of tomorrow. You can now donate directly via our website or you can contact claire[at]ensembleoffspring for more information.
